1961

First shopping centre in Austria

Ekazent is a traditional company in the Austrian commercial real estate history and was founded in 1961 by the Central Savings Bank and the municipality of Vienna as a settlement company for the Hietzing shopping centre, the first shopping centre in Austria.

1964

Further development of the centre

In 1964, the centre was opened with shops, offices, one hotel and an underground garage.

1971 - 1995

Construction of further shopping centres

This was followed by the construction of the Großfeldzentrum (1971), the Per Albin Hansson Centre (1972), Vienna’s largest shopping centre, the Donauzentrum (opening 1975, sale 1995), the centre simmering (1981) and Hernals (1986), the Ekazent Schwechat (1988) and the shopping centre B7 Ekazent Stammersdorf (1995).

Internet platform “nahversorger.at”

In 2003, the efficient internet platform for the local supply “nahversoger.net” was established.

2017

Expansion of EKAZENT Management GmbH

Purchase of all Ekazent trademark rights and foundation of EKAZENT Management GmbH. Integration of the Parndorf Fashion Outlet, the Freeport Fashion Outlet, the Ekazent Hietzing and other commercial properties into the new Ekazent portfolio.

Expansion of the portfolio by Ekazent Seyring

Purchase of the retail centre at Seyringer Spitz and renamed Ekazent Seyring.

Repositioning

Integration of the shareholding into the United Benefits Holding GmbH and complete repositioning of the company. In the future, EKAZENT Management GmbH will combine the competences of asset management for all asset classes, center management, as well as rental & sale of apartments and retail units.

Expansion

Establishing the newly founded residential leasing and sales and expansion of the retail area.
